AI data platforms, Martech is eating the Holdco, social media consolidation

📰 Latest Developments

AI data platforms. There were a couple of interesting developments in CDP land last week. First off, Amperity – the composable CDP – repositioned its product as the Amperity Customer Data Cloud, which seeks to be a platform for creating the customer data foundation for AI use cases. The second piece of news in this space was Uniphore – an enterprise AI platform – which acquired composable CDP ActionIQ along with the automated data migration platform Infoworks and rebranded them together as a Zero Data AI Cloud, which as the name hints at is a warehouse-native platform for data preparation and management for AI use cases. Maybe it's just a coincidence that two well-known composable CDPs are retooled towards being AI data platforms in the same week, but the moves make sense on a few levels. From a competitive standpoint, the category is overcrowded with 260 different CDPs listed on G2, so seeking differentiation away from the category is justifiable. Plus, warehouse-native CDPs have a lot of features that can help companies undergird their AI use cases and accelerate time to value: no ETL or long data integration work, zero-copy architecture, identity resolution, and customer data management capabilities. The big question for ActionIQ and Amperity is how they capture buyers' attention and make them understand what their platforms do now that they have ripped off the CDP badge. ActionIQ | Amperity
