Here’s the week in Martech:
- No more boundaries: AI is removing marketing blockers.
- The danger of open-source: WordPress’s feud with WP Engine.
- Trendy acquisitions: More acquisitions in AI and retail media.
- Everything else: monetizing social search, more antitrust trouble for Google, the marketer-friendly AI interface, the rise of social commerce, and more.

đź“° Latest Developments
No more boundaries. I saw a pair of product demonstrations last week that veered into the world of sci-fi. The first was from Meta, which showcased new AI-powered creator tools at its Meta Connect event. One feature takes Reels and dubs them into other languages, even changing the creator’s mouth movements to match the dubbed language. Another tool allows creators to generate an AI persona of themselves that can respond to questions. The second product demo was from IRCODE, which enables advertisers to create shoppable video ads in any channel without the need for QR codes. IRCODE’s Exact Match technology enables consumers to use their phone to scan “actual commercials, TV and interactive advertising and digital out-of-home” like they would a QR code and be linked off to learn more or make a purchase. Although Meta and IRCODE’s use cases are very different, they both demonstrate how AI is removing boundaries in marketing. IRCODE axes impediments between a consumer seeing an offline video and purchasing what is in that video. Meta eliminates language barriers for creators as well as enables them to scale their most finite resource – their time – by creating infinite AI replicas of themselves. Of all AI’s possibilities, perhaps the most significant is its ability to remove boundaries that once seemed immovable. Meta | IRCODE
